William S. Leavitt is President of Leavitt Capital
Management, an investment advisory firm in Northbrook, Illinois,
assisting high-net worth individuals and families with their wealth
management. Clients
include professional athletes, entrepreneurs, wealthy individuals
and families.
Bill has been a lecturer in finance at Northwestern
University and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute
for Metropolitan Affairs (Roosevelt University), Saint Mary’s
College (Minnesota) and Spertus College (Chicago). For almost 20
years, Bill was a member of the Finance Committee serving the
endowment fund of the Jewish United Fund of Chicago, as well as a
member of its Sub-Committee on Investment Managers and Asset
Allocation.
He received an undergraduate degree from the
University of Michigan in 1974 and a law degree from the University
of Michigan Law School in 1977.
He is a member of the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar
Associations, the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, the
Association for Investment Management and Research and the American
Bar Association Committee on Investments (Section of Real Property,
Probate and Trust Law).
Bill is a frequent speaker at investment and family office
conferences, including those sponsored by the Institute for
International Research and the Investment Management Network.
Among the publications in which Bill’s comments on
alternative investments have been mentioned include the Wall Street
Journal, Financial News Network, Emerging Markets Week, MAR HEDGE,
Smart Money Online, TheStreet.com and ABCNews.com. His latest
published work was a piece on global water infrastructure, which
appeared in the September 2009 issue of Dr. Marc Faber's "Boom, Doom
and Gloom Report".
